CarillionEnterprise believes in the power of Sustainability and this was at the heart of our original tender submission for the Regional Prime Central Contract back in 2005. We recognise that Sustainability is an increasingly important issue to MOD and the newly formed Defence Infrastructure Organisation (DIO), who are looking to Prime Contractors to continue to deliver sustainable solutions across their estate.
Perhaps unsurprisingly, our approach to Sustainability mirrors the thinking of current UK Government and its underlying departments – including MOD.
Our strategy is represented below and is a framework for everything we do on Sustainability. Our objectives, targets, programmes and activities reflect its principles – as well as those of our client.
Our aim is to work with our client and military end users to deliver sustainable solutions on the estate we manage, in turn helping to meet our DIO’s vision of an estate of the right size and quality and sensitive to social and environmental needs.
We have set ourselves challenging targets to achieve in each of these areas and will measure these at board level. For each of our contract sites we are developing Sustainable Development Action Plans, in conjunction with our client and customers, to ensure that each site continues to become more Sustainable, both in our contract life and beyond.
